Careers FAQ
-
We hire for several roles: Direct Support Professional (DSP), Supported Living Coach, Respite Provider, Companion, Personal Supports Specialist, and Community Inclusion Mentor. Every role supports individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities across Central Florida.
-
Everyone on our team works as an independent contractor (1099). Think of us like a staffing agency: we match qualified contractors with client assignments that fit their skills, availability, and location.
-
It's simple — click the apply button on this page, fill out the short application form, and upload your resume through the secure link provided. Our team personally reviews every application.
-
You'll need to be 18 or older, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and hold a valid Florida driver's license with reliable transportation. CPR and First Aid certification are also needed — if you don't have them yet, you can obtain them within 30 days of starting. Florida law also requires a Level 2 background screening for anyone serving individuals with developmental disabilities. You're responsible for completing your screening and covering the screening fee before your first assignment — and we'll walk you through exactly where to go and what to do.
-
If your experience fits an open or upcoming assignment, we'll reach out to schedule an interview. From there, selected candidates complete their onboarding paperwork — including Form W-9 with two forms of valid ID — finish their background screening and training, then head out on their first assignment.
-
Each assignment has its own schedule, based on the client's support plan. Some assignments are just a few hours a week; full-time contractors can work up to 12 hours a day, with weekly hours depending on client availability and business needs. You'll always know the schedule and location before you accept an assignment.
-
No problem — you'll be placed on our active roster. As new assignments open up, we match contractors based on skills, availability, and location. The best thing you can do is keep your contact information and availability up to date, so we can reach you quickly when the right fit comes along.
-
Your profile stays active as long as your background screening and credentials are current and you keep us posted on your availability. A quick check-in now and then keeps you at the front of the line for new assignments.
-
Contractors are paid bi-weekly for the hours they work, by check or direct deposit — we don't pay in cash. If your bank offers early direct deposit, when your pay arrives depends on your bank.
-
Yes, we do. We believe a past mistake shouldn't automatically close the door to meaningful work, so a criminal record doesn't automatically disqualify you. Florida offers an exemption process that allows some individuals with a record to be approved for this kind of work. Every situation is reviewed individually and kept completely confidential — the only requirement is that all state screening approvals are in place before your first assignment.
